How do I create my own Chart of Accounts?

If you do not want to use our default chart of accounts, scroll down to the bottom of the drop down list of industry types and choose “Other.” This is the most generic listing of general ledger accounts. You can then add or remove GL accounts in order to meet your needs.

 

To add a new account to your chart of accounts, start by selecting Setup on the menu toolbar and choose Chart of Accounts. Then click on the Add New GL Account button. Choose the account type you want to add, review the description provided for that account type, and click on Next. Choose the General Ledger Account, review the definition provided, and click on Next. Make any necessary changes to the Account Name, assign an account number, verify the account type is correct and click on Finish.
